It isn't the end of the year assessment but it has been a long time so far so good and the NPD Group has complied the sales of best selling games this year based on six month worth of sales and believe me its full of surprises. Many games of previous year are still performing hard and maintaining there spot and some you might think of being at the top aren't even in the list.
So the biggest surprise for me was Mortal Kombat being at the top, outscoring Franchises such as GTA and Call of Duty wouldn't have been an easy task. However looks like the 25 years old game still has a strong fan base.
GTA V and Minecraft from last year still maintain there spot performing hard at there spot and GTAV seems to have it sales boosted with the Pc release of the game.
Witcher 3 according to me was one the best visually realistic games and had an amazing gameplay which should formidably gain some spots in the upcoming months.
We might see a big changeover in sales in the upcoming Holiday Season with the launch of these tiles Halo 5: Guardians, Call of Duty: Black Ops III, Fallout 4, Star Wars: Battlefront, Assassin’s Creed Syndicate, Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six Siege, Rise of the Tomb Raider, Guitar Hero Live and Rock Band 4.
Rankings for this mid-year list were taken from sales figures from January through the end of June, the most recent reporting period for The NPD Group. (Due to agreements with publishers, NPD does not publicly release hard sales numbers. The data also does not include hard figures for digital sales directly from game platforms like the Xbox One and PlayStation 4.)

Batman Arkham Knight being at the 6th position after the bad resentment from Pc gamers due to there bad ported game which really sucked hard. The game might see a rise in sales after its new patch release, if it works fine.
Call of Duty fans might have taken a hard hit from the results as this year popular franchise wasn't able to beat Battlefield in terms of sales this year is this the start of a new era?
