Amd announced there new series of Radeon 300 cards back in June to compete with Nvidia's 900 series lineup, there where many thermal throttling issues with the 200 series cards which Amd would surely like to get addressed with these cards. The 300 series have the same functioning cores as the previous series however there are some refinements in thermal and power management issues.
Radeon 370X Would Just Be A Rebrand Of 270X-
The latest leaked news and images from a Chinese website Expreview.com suggest that the card would just be a rebrand of the 270X. Amd released the R9 370 last month which was based the Trinidad pro Graphics core which was a new name for the Pitcairn Pro core. The upcoming 370X would be featuring a different version of the Trinidad core named the Trinidad XT graphics core.Firstly it was Speculated that the X version of the 300 series GPU's from Amd would feature a major difference in core architecture but the leaked GPUZ screenshot suggest that nothing such has possibly taken place.
GPU Specifications-
The 370X is based on the TrinidadXT graphics core which would be featuring 1280 stream processing cores, 80 Tmu's and 32Rops. As the Gpu is just a rebrand of the Pitcairn XT architecture it would consist of a 212mm2 die that would house around 2.8 Billion transistors. The card reviewed by Expreview was a factory overclocked version which had a clock speed of 1180 MHz and a memory clock of 1400 MHz (QDR) pumping out 179.2 GB/s of memory bandwidth. The normal might run at the same clock speed of the 270X that is 1000Mhz base and 1050Mhz Boost Clock. There are going to be two memory variants of the card specifically 2gb and 4gb which would run across a 256 bit bus. The card would get power through a 6 pin power connector and the TDP of the reference model would be around 150 Watts.
Pricing And Release-
The card prices haven't still being confirmed the 370 is currently selling for 149 US $ and the 380 for 199 US $ so its gonna be prices at something around 175 US $. The card can provide you decent gaming performance at 1080p and according to our speculation would be available next month and can be a good offer adding few bucks instead of buying a 370. More X models of Amd Gpu's might appear next month with the Radeon Nano and Nvidias new 900 series low-mid tier GPU Gtx 950 is also going to launch next month you can read more about it here.
