Amd Launches Affordable A8-7670k APU

Amd launched there A10-7870K APU back in May which was the first refreshed version of the Kaveri APU lineup targeted towards gamers at a low end budget. The new Godaveri A8-7670K is set to launch tommrow which is also a Kaveri refresh and its focused towards home use with its affordable price tag. The 7670k would replace the 7650k as the top end APU of the A8series.

The Six Gpu cores of this Apu come with Amd's GCN Technology which is used in the latest fury cards and next gen consoles the PS4 and Xbox One. The Cpu chip of the 7670k is clocked slightly higher at 3.9/3.6Ghz while the previous ones where clocked at 3.8/3.3Ghz. The Frequency of the integrated Radeon cores are also increased by a slight amount from 720 Mhz to 750Mhz.

Amd is pricing the Apu's at 117.99$ which are recommended to be paired with 68-H based motherboards which can be found anywhere from 50$. According to Amd the 7670k will outperform the i3 4160 by 200 percent in 3D Mark, and would even be ahead of it in PC Mark8. And when it comes to real world usage in open CL applications like Adobe Photoshop premier and Blender it could outperform the i3 nearly by 250 percent and as it comes unlocked you are free to push the limits.The Apu also supports DirectX 12 which would also be of great advantage in the near future.
