Its an disappointing news for gamers and tech enthusiast around the world that Forza 6 wont be running on the Directx 12 platform. According to an interview with the creative director of Turn10 Studios Dan Greenwalt at E3 2015 by Kal El from TiC podcast when he was asked if the game is running on Directx 12 customized engine his answer was no.
According to him the game would be running on a modified version of the DirectX 11 engine which is currently in the Windows 8 based operating system on the Xbox One. He also stated that the new engine managed to run super efficiently right off the bat and that gave them time to add amazing visuals and more details to the game instead of having to suffer through hours of optimizations.We can however expect that the next Forza Motorsport title or even the next open world title Forza Horizan 3 to support DirectX 12 fully when that launches in the holiday period of 2016.
